Yes no doubt 100% sure!

Its the most tolerent and tolerable.

I’m not buddhist but if I had to choose a religion to waste my time with I would definitley choose buddhism.

A bit idealistic.

Peace can only exist until you are attacked…then you either fight back or are made extinct.

Maybe if Buddhists did fight back we wouldn’t have a free Tibet movement?

Well… not the only one, no. Most Eastern religions are comparable.

However, Buddhism has its dark side, too. Firstly, I don’t think encouraging billions of starving people to let go of desire is the wisest course of action.

The ten countries with the highest percentage of Buddhists -

Thailand
Cambodia
Myanmar
Bhutan
Sri Lanka
Tibet
Laos
Vietnam
Japan
Macau
Taiwan

The top ten countries with the largest Buddhist populations -

China
Japan
Thailand
Vietnam
Myanmar
Sri Lanka
South Korea
Taiwan
Cambodia
India

You can hardly call the histories of most of these countries peaceful.

I thought that Japan has a lot of Buddhists?
Didn’t they participate in a war or something?
Well just by searching ‘buddhists in the military’ seems that they go to war to.

I thought that JW’s refuse to participate in any war, or to work in any capacity that will support a war, whether it is through the making of bullets, to the building of part for planes or weapons. No matter what. Does not that make them more peaceful than those who will join the military?

Compared to some others maybe, but they’re hardly the only peaceful religion out there. And you’re wrong: they DO have some dark chapters in their history.

Buddhism is a very peaceful religion because it preaches non-violence, and tolerance (and acceptance to a large degree) of other religions

However it has seen conflicts in the past. One example is the Sri Lankan civil war.
