I find this an interesting question; unfortunately I don’t know enough to answer in detail, but I would like to comment on how so many have an idealistic view of Buddhism. Buddhism (the peaceful religion), and Buddhists have been involved in world conflicts since Ashoka the Buddhist Emperor of India, who ruled before the times of Jesus.
Buddhism and Buddhists are not exempt for Human behavioral traits.
